Our
Story

Get to Know Us

Although Tru D1, Inc. is a newly formed non-profit AAU basketball organization, our members have been together for more than five years with another AAU basketball team. Our Tru D1, Inc. is an AAU basketball family that has created a positive atmosphere where young athletes can become better basketball players. TRU D1, Inc. is the vehicle that provides an opportunity for players to take their game to the next level. We exist to make a positive difference in the lives of our players. Our goal is to develop happy, healthy, and confident players. We strive to provide everyone with a safe, fun, and successful experience.

Tru D1, Inc. stands for “True Determination,” which is essential for our youth to make progress in life. We use this as our mantra so that our youth can apply the skills we teach them in basketball to their life skills. Skills such as practice to make perfect, control, teamwork, awareness, and athleticism are also applicable to life.

Coach

Raymond Worth

Raymond Worth, a Jacksonville, Florida native whose love for basketball is only second in my heart, to football. Some of my basketball accolades include MVP of my team, All-City, and two state titles. In one year, I averaged 21 points, 19 rebounds, and 5 blocks per game. I received athletic scholarships from Marshall and Valparaiso Universities, but due to injuries, I finished my education at a school in Iowa. After school, I received several job offers and an offer to try out for a Pro practice squad. I discovered my passion for helping people in my community while working with the Jacksonville Fire & Rescue Department, and I made it a career. I have maintained my love for sports and teaching kids how to achieve their best results, as it can take you a long way in life. I have been coaching in all sports for over 20 years.

Coach Raymond is married with three children (one girl and two boys) who have all played basketball.
